SBI Mutual Fund has launched Magnum SIF, its Specialised Investment Fund (SIF), on October 1, 2025, joining the new category of investment products introduced by SEBI earlier this year.
The Specialised Investment Fund structure—rolled out by SEBI on April 1, 2025—is designed as a hybrid model that lies between traditional mutual funds and Portfolio Management Services (PMS). These funds are targeted at high-net-worth investors, with a minimum investment requirement of ₹10 lakh.
Unlike conventional mutual funds, SIFs can deploy long-short strategies, allowing investors to benefit even during market downturns.
Quant Mutual Fund was the first asset management company (AMC) to receive SEBI approval to launch an SIF in August 2025, introducing India’s first long-short fund under this category.
