Burnpur, West Bengal: A new gate was inaugurated at SAIL-ISP (IISCO Steel Plant) in Burnpur’s Newtown, Road No. 16, for the convenience of employees.
On Thursday morning, the gate was opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and plaque unveiling by ED (Works) Diptendu Ghosh, ED (Materials) Abhik De, CISF DIG Prabodh Chandra, and CGM Vineet Rawal. Among others present were CGM Abhindra Ghosh, S. Dutta, S. Tofadar, Abhay Kumar, P.K. Mohanty, GM Bhaskar Kumar, Anil Verma, CISF Inspector Mahesh Nath Pandey, Company Commander Nihar Ranjan Behera, Deputy Commandant V.P. Suren, Assistant Commandant N.P. Puriya, INTUC’s Biplab Maji, Ajay Roy, BMS’s Sanjit Bandopadhyay, and Shrikant Saha.
Speaking at the event, ED Diptendu Ghosh said that for a long time, SAIL-ISP workers from the Newtown area and beyond had been demanding a separate entry gate to the plant, and that demand has now been fulfilled. The new gate will allow entry only to bicycles and two-wheelers.
CISF DIG Prabodh Chandra added that the entire responsibility of the plant’s security lies with CISF, which is being carried out efficiently. CISF personnel will be deployed at this gate at all times. The Newtown gate has been named “Somnath Dwar.”
