durga Puja weather outlook for south bengal

Though the people of Kolkata still haven’t shaken off the memory of the super heavy rain from two days ago, here is a better news for them and for rest of South Bengal for the Durga Puja festivities. The region is expected to experience mostly lesser rains during the period. Here’s the day-by-day forecast:

September 25: Predominantly dry weather. A few areas may see short spells of thundershowers in the afternoon.

September 26: Similar conditions—mainly dry with the possibility of brief thunderstorms in some places later in the day.

September 27: Morning will remain largely dry. However, a low-pressure system over Andhra Pradesh may push rain clouds into the region. Light to moderate rainfall could occur in parts of South Bengal, with scattered heavy showers along the coastal belt. Light rain is likely in distant districts of Murshidabad, Birbhum, and Nadia.

September 28: On-and-off light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout the day. Heavy downpours are unlikely, though distant districts may see some light showers.

September 29: Scattered morning showers, followed by gradual improvement in weather conditions later in the day.

September 30: Mostly dry weather is expected, with chances of short-lived thunderstorms in some pockets during the afternoon.

October 1: Weather will remain fairly pleasant in the morning, though scattered showers may appear later. Rain activity is likely to increase by night.

October 2: A fresh low-pressure system is expected to influence the region, bringing widespread light to moderate rainfall throughout the day.
