A new direct flight service has been launched between Andal (Durgapur) in West Bengal and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The IndiGo-operated flight has been running since October 28.
According to Kailash Mondal, Director of Andal Airport (Kazi Nazrul Islam Airport), the flight operates three days a week—Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday—connecting Andal with Varanasi’s Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport.
The decision to start this route was taken during a coordination meeting attended by MP Shatrughan Sinha, District Magistrate S. Ponnambalam, and Airport Director Kailash Mondal. The meeting emphasized the need for quicker and more convenient connectivity between Andal and Varanasi.
The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to cover the distance between the two cities.
