Asansol: “Operation Nanhe Farishte” is one of the key initiatives of Eastern Railway, reflecting its continued commitment to child protection. The operation aims to safeguard children who are alone, lost, or in distress at stations or on trains. In coordination with Child Helpline authorities, it ensures their timely rescue and rehabilitation.
On this day, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Howrah, Sealdah, and Asansol Divisions rescued five minor boys and girls from trains and station premises at Bolpur, Kolkata, Dumka, and Madhupur stations. The rescued children were handed over to the respective Child Helpline units for care, counselling, and rehabilitation.
Among the five rescued minors, three had run away from home without informing their families. Another had mistakenly boarded the wrong train, while one more was found aimlessly wandering inside a train.
