West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday presented a comprehensive assessment of her government’s 15 years in power, termed “Unnayaner Panchali”, at Nabanna. The report card outlines achievements, development projects and welfare initiatives implemented since 2011.
During the event, a documentary was screened narrating major accomplishments across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, social welfare, agriculture and industry. A traditional panchali-style performance accompanied the presentation, rhythmically recounting milestones in the state’s developmental journey.
According to the government’s data, tax revenues and overall receipts have increased more than five times since 2011, while expenditure on social welfare, agricultural support and infrastructure has risen significantly. The report highlights improvements in roads, water supply, housing projects and citizen-oriented services.
The Chief Minister also announced the formation of a 10-member monitoring committee to ensure that ongoing works continue uninterrupted, even as the state prepares for the 2026 assembly elections. The presentation is being viewed as both a performance review of three consecutive terms and a political statement ahead of the upcoming polls
