State-run Coal India Limited (CIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rainbow Children’s Foundation to strengthen support for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatment for children from economically weaker sections. The MoU was signed in the presence of G. Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal & Mines.
CIL Chairman Sanoj Jha, Director (HR) Dr. Vinay Ranjan, and other senior officials attended the event. The agreement was executed by Dr. K. Prashanth, Group Medical Director, Rainbow Hospital, and Rekha Pandey, GM (CSR), CIL.
Under its flagship CSR initiative — Coal India Thalassemia Bal Seva Yojna — the company will provide financial assistance of up to ₹10 lakh for BMT procedures for children suffering from Thalassemia and Aplastic Anaemia.
Since the launch of the scheme in 2017, more than 800 BMT surgeries have been successfully completed in collaboration with 18 leading hospitals across the country. Now in its third phase, the programme continues to support critical healthcare interventions for underprivileged children.
