Chittaranjan, West Bengal: A vendor conference is being held at Chittaranjan Rail City, focusing on the companies that supply parts to the Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW). Vendors from across the country have joined the event.
Inaugurating the conference today, CLW’s General Manager Vijay Kumar said that vendors are not just suppliers to Asia’s largest rail factory, but also partners in its growth. He urged all vendors to supply high-quality parts at fair prices and to ensure timely delivery. Timely supply of components, he added, enables the factory to meet its production targets. He further noted that vendors are among the key companions in CLW’s successful journey.
The two-day conference, which began on September 12 and will continue on September 13, aims to strengthen the collaboration between CLW and its suppliers. At the opening session, CMM/TM Ravindra Prasad said that such vendor conferences have been organized here since 2014–15. These meetings provide suppliers with detailed insights into the types of components and materials required for locomotive manufacturing.
CMM/HQ Sanjay Verma praised the vital role played by vendors. Other officials, including K K Goyal and Harish Mittal, also addressed the gathering. To mark the occasion, an exhibition of 66 locomotive components was organized for the vendors.
